BDBD is Ephesians 5:21-33

The interaction and relationship between a man and a woman, between husband and wife, need to have guiding principles to succeed. Without guiding principles all relationships will be like driving a car without a steering wheel, eventually, they crash and may even cause death.

The relationship between God the Father and Son, between the Son and the Spirit, the relationship within the Trinity, is the basis by which God established the relationship between a man and a woman, between husband and wife.

The relationship between Christ and the church is the basis by which the Christian relationship between husband and wife is to be bassed. Submission is the guiding principle, but each part in its own way.

Jesus submitted to the Father through enduring a humiliating and painful crucifixion and death. So a wife is to submit to her husband even though she is equal to him in position and abilities in many things. Submitting is not easy, but it can also be liberating. Submitting to a husband is an expression of faith in God.

Jesus sacrificed himself for the church, his bride thus saving her. A husband is to sacrifice completely for his wife. His model is Christ becoming shame and disfiguration so that the church may be without stain, wrinkle, and blemish. A husband is to ensure that his wife looks her best and is living in the best environment. Unconditional sacrifice is an expression of faith in God.
